Tenth Annual HEART on Safari
Local organizations work in Kenya recognized

The tenth anniversary celebration of HEART, Health Education Africa Resource Team, held its annual dinner, award ceremony, and live auction fundraiser Saturday night at the Placer Building at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. HEART is a faith based non-profit organization founded by Vickie Winkler, doing work in Kenya to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic, along with other disease prenvention with clinics and education in that country. Special guest speakers included Warren "Buck" Buckingham,III, Senior Management Team, US Global AIDS, Washington D.C., HEART staff member in Kenya Isaac Mzee, and founder/CEO Vickie Winkler. A video made by HEART members titled "Surviving Generations" was also screened.
