Colfax spots tackle Super Bowl

Football fans looking for a place to watch Sunday’s Super Bowl game have several options in Colfax.
Grandfather’s Station
The Super Bowl Party will feature three steak tacos and two beers for $5 as well as $1 beers served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 247 Railroad Ave. in the Fruit Exchange Building.
Fans will be able to watch the game on the restaurant’s two big-screen televisions, reported co-owner Ashley Alexander.
On Saturday night, Alexander continued, the Fry Brothers will play country rock from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. During their show, the restaurant will offer $1 taco and beer specials.

Giovanni’s Restaurant
Patrons are invited to join a potluck starting at 3 p.m. in the bar at Giovanni’s-Shady Glen Inn, 25689 Highway 174 (at Rollins Lake Road).
A big-screen television will be tuned to the game.

Red Frog
Pizza, burgers as well as a full bar will be available from 11 a.m. Sunday until 2 a.m. Monday at The Red Frog, 1007 Highway 174.
Fans can watch on the large- screen TV as well as two smaller TVs in the restaurant/bar area.

TJ’s Roadhouse
The television in the bar area of TJ’s Roadhouse, 520 So. Auburn St., will be tuned to the game, reported John Colon.
Diners can enjoy food and drink specials in the comfortable dining room while watching the game.

Main Street Pizza
Lee Shahin, owner of Basement Wines and Main Street Pizza, expects his staff will be cooking and delivering pizzas non-stop from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. “We will be open and will be delivering (pizza) all day,” he said.
He urges residents to call ahead of time to pre-order pizzas for delivery. Call 346-8200.
Mom’s Kitchen
While Dana and Nick Pappas have no plans for a Super Bowl Sunday party, they are inviting fans to purchase squares on the Super Bowl Sunday Pig.
Cost is $5 per square. The holder of the square with the score at the end of each quarter will win $100. The square holder with the winning game score will claim $200.
Stop by the restaurant, 1516 Canyon Way, by Saturday to enter the contest.
The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
