Municipal advisory councils that serve Meadow Vista and the Weimar-Applegate-Colfax area have vacancies for secretaries.

Placer County officials are accepting applications from residents interested in filling either position or both.

MAC secretaries are contract employees who work for the board.

The seven-member Meadow Vista Municipal Advisory Council normally meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at Placer Hills School.

The Weimar-Applegate-Colfax Municipal Advisory Council typically meets at 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Colfax Veterans Memorial Hall.

MAC secretaries are paid $150 for each monthly meeting they attend.

Being a MAC secretary is a chance to serve one's community while staying up to date on county issues. Secretaries are responsible for mailing out agendas, taking summary minutes and handling related duties.

Completed applications should be delivered to the board's office in person or by mail. The office is located at 175 Fulweiler Ave. in Auburn.
