The Colfax Junior Falcons have announced their 2009 season schedule.

The Jr. Falcons will open the season on the road with a non-league game at Union Mine on August 29.

Following the non-league opener, the schedule shows that the Jr. Falcons will then play a seven-game divisional schedule including four games which will be played at Marson Stadium at Colfax High.

The Jr. Falcons are part of the Sacramento Youth Football League (SYFL) started out with four teams in 2005 — Center, Highlands, Rio Linda and Colfax.

The once four-team league added several teams during the past four seasons and now hosts 21 teams in three divisions. Associations were evaluated based on past records and placed in one of three divisions. The Junior Falcons are in Division II.

In other Jr. Falcons news, sign-ups for the Colfax football and cheer program will be taken at Jr. Falcon booth during the Independence Day celebration this Friday July 3rd. The booth will be located on Main Street.

Cheer camp will run from 5:00p-7:00p on July 27-29 and will be held in conjunction with the Colfax High School cheerleaders.
